It has been said that you hate people…

I don’t hate people. I hate bullshit. And I hate assholes. And since assholes tend to be full of shit, that all just goes hand in hand. I don’t have time for either. You can work with me, which means working within the structure of Red Scream Films LLC and the way we do things, or you can fuck off. That’s how it works. And it does work.

So there’s no compromise…

Sure there is. Understand that if you are working under the Red Scream banner, you are making movies the Red Scream way. If you think you know better then go start your own film company and make your own movies. No hard feelings and don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out. Look, I launched this company in November of 2005, that’s barely over two years ago. Two years and five months ago. At the start there was me and only me. No track record. Nothing under the belt. Just me and an idea. And a methodology. Now, less than two and half years later there’s me and Debra and Jeff and Sean and there’s Seng and his team and there’s Brain Damage Films and there’s doors opening and opportunities knocking and people coming to us to say, hey, I heard of you guys and I want to work with you. We’ll have 4-5 films in release by the end of this year. That’s both domestic and international. That’s where I have taken this company in 29 short months with no resources, pocket change found in an old sofa, and a total refusal to consider any methods other than my own. You may not like that method, but you can’t deny it works. Well you can if your an asshole.  

There’s talk of a possible theatrical release for Red Scream Vampyres?

It could happen. Limited release probably. We’ll see what happens.  

I heard you have five film projects slated for 2008-2009.

There are five film projects at least ready to go. It’s just a matter of finding the money, or being able to get people to work for free one more time. I’d rather be able to pay people. Even its only a stipend. But to date that hasn’t been possible. I mean, some people have been paid. But most have not. I haven’t been paid. Debra hasn’t been paid. Jeff hasn’t been paid.  

Red Scream Films is still in the red?

We’re out of pocket. There’s x amount of dollars for each film. That’s all there is. Once it is gone, it is gone. So we either make the film for what we have or the film doesn’t get made. So people who are interested in being in a film that is actually going to get released and get released not just in the United States but in Europe and Asia, have the option of working for the cost of travel, meals and a place to rest their weary heads. That’s not free nor cheap by the way though many seem to think it is.  Having a listing in IMDB is worth something too. Having a credit in a film that people have actually heard of has value. Just the experience alone has value. The people we work with understand that. They also understand that this is a long term goal. Not shoot the wad and hope for the best. We are in this for the long haul.
